Random Data "the EGG" 'tho it might sound as the April fool's joke do not
dismiss it strait a way, this project is in same time unbelievable, challenging
and interesting.
Suppose that there was device which could register human emotions (this is nothing special there are lot of such devices) and than go one step further, if there was device which would register human emotions on the global scale, so any big event as celebration of the new year or earthquake anything what results in higher brain activity by us would be shown as higher activity on the graph of that device (even this is imaginable) but what would happened if you noticed one day that this device is sensing the events as the tidal wave or 9/11 few hours before they are even happened?! Well, I'm confused and very skeptical but I wonder who would make such effort to document and present it on the internet on several in detail documented web pages if it was just practical joke. Follow EGG work in real time as it happens at the Princeton university "Global Correlations in Random Data" website "At first glance it is an unremarkable piece of equipment. Encased in metal, it contains at its heart a microchip no more complex than the ones found in modern pocket calculators. But, according to a growing band of top scientists, this box has quite extraordinary powers. It is, they claim, the 'eye' of a machine that appears capable of peering into the future and predicting major world events. The machine apparently sensed the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Centre four hours before they happened - but in the fevered mood of conspiracy theories of the time, the claims were swiftly knocked back by skeptics. But last December, it also appeared to forewarn of the Asian tsunami just before the deep sea earthquake that precipitated the epic tragedy." Quote from the 'Red Nova' Can This Black Box See Into the Future ? Global Correlations in Random Data
"The Global Consciousness Project, also called the EGG Project, is an
international and multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists, engineers,
artists and others. This website introduces methods and technology and empirical
results in one section, and presents interpretations and applications in
another. We have been collecting data from a global network of random event generators since August, 1998. The network has grown to about 65 host sites around the world running custom software that reads the output of physical random number generators and records a 200-bit trial sum once every second, continuously over months and years. The data are transmitted over the internet to a server in Princeton, NJ, USA, where they are archived for later analysis. The purpose of this project is to examine subtle correlations that appear to to reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world. The scientific work is careful, but it is at the margins of our understanding. We believe our view may be enriched by a creative and poetic perspective. Here we present various aspects of the project, including some insight into its scientific and philosophical implications." Quote from the Princeton university website | | | | | home | | |
