Freedom of speech is not big mamma

We all saw it on the TV Scandinavian embassies infernos, angry mob protests in London and in the majority of the Islamic countries and most of us wondered why, presuming Muslims do not have right to get angry.

But than I honestly think for example if film "Life of Brian" was was produced by some Arab country or some other non Christian country it would never be funny.
People would question the intentions and the joke and all magic would be ruined.

At the other side no person with bit of decency at this moment would dare to make anti-Semitic or racist jokes, why?
Not only because it's only forbidden by law in most European countries (so above the freedom of speech) but we know they are not funny they can be only painful, because our fathers once have accused whole one European minority as immoral and guilty for death of our prophet and we all know what where the consequences.

So why do we think we have right to joke about someone's else's prophets and why do we scream about "freedom of speech" in this recent case so much.

Freedom of speech is not big mamma by who we can hide behind the skirt while are playing naughty games, but same way freedom of speech is our granted right to say things we feel and like, but all responsibility lays on one who does.

Moral people do not insult or say unethical things, and if by accident they did or not realizing that they did, they excuse, anyway this counts for offended site too if they cross the line of proper behavior.

These cartoonist might be just stupid uniformed and ignorant or malicious or all in one, but in the process of few months of their production they and newspaper was probably very well informed that they are doing is something wrong. If anyone should offer an excuse they should do that and thanks God they did.

From other side it's surprising that some New Europeans are not aware of elementary rules how things are done here.
There where the voices that Danish officials fail to respond to initial protests after the cartoons had appeared in a Danish newspaper.

If Denmark was dictator ship than one should appeal to the top to fix things up, but in democracy these things are settled on the other way.
Each and every country here in Europe has more than just judicial instrument, there are all kind of independent "discrimination monitors" it works efficiently much better than bringing things on the streets.

There are time after time things forbidden in Europe cause it might be offensive of disturbing for general public, certain group or individual, think of Marithe et Francois Girbaud advertising campaign with the female Christ campaign , it was quiet innocent (up to my criteria) and yet forbidden in Italy and France, because it was insulting feelings of believers.
There are thousand cases like that of any kind of nature or religious background.

If streets are best media for communication I wonder where "we" where than when Beslan was going on, my heart brakes only thinking about these moments.

So lets all get bit all little bit less edgy and more consolidative it's in interest of us all, Europe could and is the example continent.
This World if full of murky interests and unfinished agendas, where people of goodwill have failed, evil will take over.
