Posted at 09:22 PM Friday - December 28, 2007Psyche and Cupid Psyche and Cupid When envious and beautiful goddess Venus has sent Cupid her son to punish Psyche for she was more beautiful than Venus self she could not imagine that Cupid would fell in love with this earthly woman. Cupid in his all obsessed love for Psyche was afraid that if Psyche would know he was a god she would start to worship him and not love as an equal. Therefor Cupid was only visiting Psyche in the night when she could not see him. But Psyche was curious she loved Cupid with whole her heart so she had to see his face. One night while Cupid was asleep she lit the oil lamp and saw the face of her love. Cupid felt betrayed by this and went away but love was stronger than anger and hurt so they got together again. Story about this love has spread quickly around and when it came to Jupiter's ears he was so touched by it so he have decided to make beautiful Psyche a goddess to prevent their love could ever have any doubts.
