Confessions of a Church Girl

I got opportunity to lay my eyes few minutes ago on a brilliant book of Beverly T. Gooden just reading few pages from the transcript are really promising, written with excellent and all-absorbing style and story is so interesting so if I did not decide to post it on "The Challenge" I would not stop till the last page was done.

When Beverly T. Gooden lost her virginity, she didn’t understand what all the hype was about. Raised in a devout Christian home, Beverly enters an unfamiliar environment when she begins high school in the inner city of Cleveland, Ohio. Faced with drugs and violence, she makes the decision to follow the crowd against the teachings of her faith, and give up her virginity to a drug dealer she barely knew. Little did she realize this one decision would spark a series of events leading to inconceivable pain.

Confessions of a Church Girl outlines the true story of a young woman’s secret five-year struggle with sexual addiction. Faced with infection and rape, she races to uncover the truth about her faith, and hear the voice of the God. This emotional, yet empowering story is an autobiographic journey entailing love, lies, sex, and drugs, teaching one young woman the true meaning of forgiveness.

After word
“Are you alright?” asked a distant voice. “Excuse me miss, is everything okay?”
I looked to my left and saw a middle-aged white woman walking towards me.
“I was walking past and saw you lying there,” she said. “I thought you might be dead.”
I laughed. I wasn’t dead; I was more alive than I’d ever been. Although a part of me had died that day; a death that was long overdue. She came closer and reached her hand out to help me. I grabbed it, and she lifted me onto my feet.
Examining the grass stains on my jeans, I decided it was nothing a little Shout couldn’t handle. The woman pulled a tissue out of her pocket and began to wipe at my face.
“What were you doing on the ground?” she asked.
“I.. well, I was...” I thought for a moment. Would she believe me if I said I was talking to God. I decided to chance it.
